Product Description

Garmin StreetPilot C330 Car GPS Navigation System with 3.5" Touchscreen
Garmin StreetPilot C330 Car GPS System with 3.5" Screen In-car navigation has never been easier—or more affordable. The Garmin StreetPilot C330 Car GPS System with 3.5" Screen features a simple touchscreen interface, with automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way. Selecting a destination is straightforward and requires only a limited amount of input from the user. Plus, the StreetPilot c320 and StreetPilot c330 allow you to choose between a three-dimensional navigation view or the more traditional “bird’s eye” overhead view.

For the ultimate out-of-the-box convenience, the StreetPilot c330 comes preprogrammed with highly detailed MapSource City Select street data. The database features nearly six million points of interest—including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions. (The c320 comes with a 128 MB SD card and a MapSource City Select CD-ROM for data transfer from a PC via a USB connection.)

As an added benefit, you can now import customized points of interest with the help of Garmin's free POI Loader software. The possibilities are endless — upload safety cameras or school zones, and you will receive a warning if you are traveling too fast. In addition, an optional proximity-alert feature notifies you of upcoming custom POIs.

The centerpiece of both units is a bright, 3.5-inch diagonal, 16-bit color display that makes navigation a snap. The StreetPilot c330 features dual integrated speakers for high-quality voice prompts, and an internal lithium-ion battery for out-of-car route planning.

The new StreetPilot c-series boasts distinctive and sleek styling—the only buttons are a rotary volume knob and an on/off switch. The device is secured by a suction-mount cradle that fastens to the windshield for easy portability between vehicles.

REVIEW BY: Steve Reviewed May 19, 2007 Purchased this unit on Mother's day 2007. Never owned a GPS before and did much research before settling on the C330. Everything I expected it to be. Calculates and recalculates quickly. Doesn't always give the shortest route but is a consistant performer. Maps are slightly dated bu that's what I expected for a unit on the market for a few years. Updates are available on the Garmin website. Controls are very first time user friendly. Look forward to using this unit on an upcoming trip from Florida to Pennsylvania. Recommend this unit for anyone wanting a basic GPS without the gadgets. Hard to go wrong with this one from a quality name company.

REVIEW BY: Kristen Reviewed May 17, 2007 It is funny because i was actually just reading the reviews and my order came in ONE day!~!! I have not tried the GPS yet, but i cant wait. Shipping was very very fast.

REVIEW BY: Hawk Reviewed May 07, 2007 I was a little nervous getting this unit because of the screen size, that and I never had a GPS unit before. Boy was I wrong! This 3.5 inch screen is large enough and is crystal clear. The lettering is large and the voice prompts are exceptionally clear. I drive a lot for a living being a NYC cabby. I’ve used this unit for two days now and it seems flawless. I haven’t done any map updates yet. I really don’t think I’ll have to. Now I know the city well but I needed to test this unit out. Although I know better short cuts then this unit, it has no problem recalculating and continuing my trip. I did have an out of town trip to New Jersey where I’m not familiar with the roads. This little unit got me there flawlessly. Heck, my passenger was impressed with the time I made. Man I felt good. I don’t believe in expensive units that have a built in mp3 player or picture viewer. I don’t need the extra bells and whistle. Call me old fashion. I need something that gets the job

REVIEW BY: BC Reviewed Apr 25, 2007 I can never recommend this unit to anybody. As I was driving to Boston from Montreal I plugged this unit for the first time to charge, and I got a battery alarm signal in my dashboard. I never cared enough thinking that the battery is just dying on my, but after a while I started loosing my dashboard gauges and more alarms showing up. Pulled out at the next exit and found a Midas. After diagnostics they found the problem in my alternator over charging. It seems that the unit caused a short the blow up the voltage regulator on the alternator. It cost me over 600$ to change the alternator. I returned the unit but still working with Garmin customer service since nobody wants to take responsibility of the the damage that the unit caused to my car. Therefore I can only give this unit the worst review.

REVIEW BY: bigron Reviewed Apr 22, 2007 I bought this unit a year ago at a local Best Buy for $599. Now look at the price! I travel quite a bit getting dropped anywhere in the US and once in Toronto and have had great luck. In downtown Toronto it would lose signal in the tall buildings but pick it back up and eventually get me where I needed to be. I did not lose signal in Manhattan. It can be confused by newer construction, but will get you there one way or another. The maps can be upgraded when a new version comes out for around $75 through Garmin's web site, but I haven't really had the need. Even if I take wrong turn or miss a turn it is quick to recalculate and get me on track. I don't get lost any more. This unit can be a bit hard to see in daylight, but the voice commands take away the need to look at it.
