This card is for storage of large amounts of data. Because the read write speed is so low it is almost useless as a memory card for your digital camera. I didn't know any of this before purchasing it, having to wait about a minute between taking pictures while using it, and then researching what was going on. Anyway we've had it for over a year and it works great... just very very slowly... REVIEW BY: Kulinsj Reviewed Jul 18, 2007 Bought this card about 2 weeks ago. I have a 5 megapixel camera and this card can hold over 1500 photos or an hour of video (800x600).It's been working flawlessly for me in the camera and in any computer it's been in. I Highly recomend it, especially for the price. REVIEW BY: G.R. Reviewed Jul 14, 2007 I use the card for couple of weeks and now is not working and ask me to formate it . The only problem is , I have 300 pictures on it and I can't save them. I will remember this when I buy next time. REVIEW BY: Rodger Reviewed Jul 11, 2007 I bought this product about 2 months ago and used it about once a week to move data from a monitoring system to a desktop for analysis. In other words they haven’t seen heavy use. One has to be reformatted after every use and a second is dead after approximately 8 to 12 transfers, I find this to be unacceptable by any standard. Meanwhile I have 3 other cards by Ultra that have given me no trouble at all, avoid this product the quality just aint there! REVIEW BY: TT Reviewed Jun 12, 2007 I bought this a few months ago (at a slightly higher price). Works great in my Pentax Optio 5. However, whatever you do don't try to format the card in the camera. I expect this might be true of other cameras as well. The card worked fine when i just plugged it in but being a smart guy figured i'd be safe and reformat in the camera to make sure it would work correctly. Unfortunately the camera formated the device to only 1g. No matter what I tried (formating on PC or with other tools etc.hours searching for help on google) I could not get back to 2g. That is until I thought to look on the manufactures website. They actually had a utility available to download to ''restore original capacity'' to any of there cards. It isn't much of a site other than that but it sure saved me. And probably other idiots like myself who can't leave well enough alone. Thanks Transcend! Write a Review Read More > What You Should Know NUMBER OF IMAGES STORED ON A DIGITAL CARD The number of pictures you can take varies depending on your camera model and complexity of the scene being photographed. To calculate how many pictures your card can hold, divide the capacity of your card by the average file size of your images. For example, if you have a 256MB card, and use a camera that has an average file size of 1.2MB, then 256 divided by 1.2 gives you approximately 213 pictures. As you change modes on your camera, the number of images will increase if you shoot in a lower resolution mode, and decrease if you shoot in a higher resolution mode. $29.99 |
