I purchased this Lenovo 3000 K100 for several reasons. First being the price w/rebate. Second, and this should probably be first, to replace a piece of junk the day I took it out of the box Dell E520. At NO time did or has Dell honored any part of the service contract, that I had to buy, by the way. Enough about that, this is supposed to be a review of this new Lenovo. I haven't found one thing about it, yet, that I don't like. It is SO quiet that sometimes I check to make SURE that it is really running. To the feller bitching about no speakers and other things that he apparently has no idea about, well, 'nough said there too. READ the item description before you buy ANY item, and if this isn't possible, have someone read it to you! Now, about ''VISTA''. Who the hell came up with THAT better idea??? I have virtually $100's of dollors of software that is NOT compatable w/VISTA. Even my PRINTER will not work with it. I get the message Printer Driver ROM not compatable w/VIST

I just purchased the system with the Q6600 processors from Office Depot. This system is being used as a gaming system. While the Dec 29 review is correct, the power supply doesn't have the ability to add additional components. However, it is also only a 285 watt power supply. So I had already intended to replace it anyway. I was going to build me a machine, but at $700 it was hard to beat the price. I added a 500 watt power supply and Geforce 8800 GTS OC - I already owned. The power supply and video card installed without a hitch. The system only contains four slots. I have installed in the slots the video card (which resides in the PCIe x16 and the cooler is above one of the PCI express), a TV tuner in a PCIe x1 (came with unit), and a sound blaster X-Fi (I already owned this card). This system is performing in the top of the list for performance at 3Dmark2006 website.

Very satisfied with this computer so far. I got in on the 100 dollar rebate so makes it so much better for me. computer is super fast, great features and stylish to boot. i put together a computer about 6 years ago for the same money i spent on this one and this is way better than i could ever do. i'm liking the vista so far, i see it only gives a trial version of office though, guess i should have read more as i thought it was included, but not a problem. very nice computer and VERY quite too!! you cant even hear it running! oh and the guy bitching about speakers...it doesn't say it comes with speakers, and if you dont have speakers from previous computer, then buy some, besides most speakers that come with computers or keyboards arent that great anyway. Anyway, i'd recommend this to anyone...especially at the great price from Tiger Direct! Thanks so much!

I just took delivery of a new Lenovo 3000 K100. What a piece of junk! User Guide and other documentation is absolutely worthless. Just a picture guide of ''parts and ports'', no real instruction at all. No extra ''Molex'' couples on the power supply feeds. No speakers. Have to buy extra, and they MUST have a S/PDIF connection. Almost NO expansion capability. Only ONE PCI,slot and it is filled with an obsolete dial up modem card. No DVI Video output port. Etc, Etc; and this is supposed to be a Media Center/Gammer high end Computer??? I don't think so. Potential Buyers__''CAVET EMPTOR'' this one!

What You Should Know
NOTE REGARDING RECOVERY MEDIA
Most computer systems no longer include "Recovery Media" (Disks or CDs used to restore your computer system to it's factory shipped state). This is not specific to systems purchased from our company, but standard practice throughout the entire industry. Some manufacturers or models include a utility that enables users to create recovery media. Inclusion of such a recovery utility varies by manufacturer and model; not all manufactures and models include such a utility. For those that include such a utility we recommend you create your own set of recovery media after completing the Windows installation. If you fail to do this and encounter a difficulty in the future you may not be able to properly restore your computer. Some manufacturers may have physical recovery media available separately for purchase; consult your owner’s manual support information section for additional information.
